Which Swim Squad in Redlands is Right for My Swimmer?
Swim squads are coached by the team at Cleveland Aquatic Centre (operated by Belgravia Leisure). Redlands Swim Club is the volunteer-run club that members join for racing.

Swim squads in Redlands at Cleveland Aquatic Centre place swimmers based on their current swimming stage, not age, so that they train with others working on similar skills. This approach reflects Swimming Queensland’s athlete development pathway, which guides how clubs across the state structure squad progression. Because every swimmer develops at a different pace, the coaches monitor progress closely and move each swimmer up when they feel they’re ready.
For this reason, each swimmer is assessed individually and placed where they’ll be supported and positively challenged. However, if you have questions about your child’s level, the coaches are happy to explain.
Swim squads or Redlands Swim Club: what’s the difference?
Squads are the training. For example, squad training at Cleveland Aquatic Centre is open to all swimmers at their level, whether or not they belong to Redlands Swim Club (RSC), and RSC members train in the same sessions as everyone else.
On the other hand, RSC membership is the competitive side, because it’s what lets your swimmer race at club meets, earn recognised qualifying times and follow the pathway to State and National teams.
In addition, squads are coached by the team at Cleveland Aquatic Centre (operated by Belgravia Leisure), while RSC is the volunteer-run club that members join for racing. See what comes after learn-to-swim.
