What swim club fees you’re actually paying for
Wondering what swim club fees you’ll pay to join Redlands Swim Club? You’ll pay three separate costs to three different places. Here’s the simple breakdown.
1. Redlands Swim Club fee: Annual Membership
You pay this annual fee on Swim Central to RSC
This swim club fee covers your child’s registration with Swimming Brisbane/Queensland/Australia, insurance, and eligibility to race at any sanctioned meet.
Swimming Australia sets the cost of an annual competitive membership (currently $210). However, the Queensland government’s Play On Sports Voucher (worth $200) mostly offsets this.
2. Weekly Training fees
You pay this ongoing fee directly to Belgravia
This weekly charge covers squad coaching and pool access.
Belgravia Leisure, which operates Cleveland Aquatic Centre, employs the coaches. Belgravia coaches train every swimmer at the centre, both RSC and non-RSC. Consequently, you pay this fee directly to Belgravia.
Therefore, please contact Cleveland Aquatic Centre for up-to-date squad fees.
3. Race entry fees
You pay this occasional fee on Swim Central per event to the meet host
In addition, your swim club fee gives your swimmer access to enter swim meets. Each meet then has its own race entry fee, which covers the cost of running that specific event.
The meet host charges this fee when you choose your swimmer’s races (called a nomination). You pay it on Swim Central.
For a detailed breakdown of typical race entry fees, see How to Enter Meets.
How to Reduce your Swim Club Fees
Swim club fees add up, but there are a few simple ways to keep them down.
1. Claim your Play On Sports Voucher
The Queensland Government’s Play On Sports Voucher is worth $200 and mostly covers the annual membership fee. It’s the biggest saving available, so check your eligibility before you pay. Find out how to apply for a Play On Sports Voucher.
2. Choose the right squad
Training fees are your biggest ongoing cost, and they vary by squad. Starting in the squad that suits your swimmer’s current level means you’re not paying for more training than they need. See our Squad Levels to find the right fit.
3. Pick your meets carefully
Every meet has its own race entry fee, so the number of meets you enter changes your total cost. Focus on meets that match your swimmer’s level and goals rather than entering everything. Our swim Meet Levels guide explains which meets suit which swimmers.
4. Renew before 30 September
Renewing within the grace period keeps your swimmer’s Swim Central access active, so you can enter meets without interruption. Mark it in your calendar each year.
The Swimming season runs 1 July – 30 June
The official membership year is the same as the Australian financial year.
Current members get a grace period until 30 September each year. If you do not renew by 1 October, you will lose access to Swim Central and meet entries.

QUICK QUESTIONS
Do I need to pay all three fees to join?
Yes (sort of). You pay them at different times and to different places, so you won’t see them as one lump sum. For example, you only pay the race entry fee when you enter a competition.
What happens if I miss the 1 October renewal deadline?
Your swimmer will lose access to Swim Central and can’t enter meets until you renew the club membership.
Why are training fees separate from membership?
Because Belgravia Leisure, not RSC, employs the coaches and runs the pool — so this fee goes directly to them.
