Child Safety at Redlands Swim Club
Redlands Swim Club is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for every child. Child safety is a shared responsibility — coaches, committee members, volunteers, parents and swimmers all play a role in protecting children from harm.
Our commitment
Every child has the right to be treated with respect, dignity and care, free from bullying, neglect, abuse or discrimination. We take this responsibility seriously and follow clear policies, procedures and national safeguarding standards.
RSC Child Safety Guidelines
Our Code of Conduct sets the standards of behaviour expected from swimmers, coaches, volunteers, officials, parents and committee members. It ensures a safe, respectful and inclusive environment for all children.
It covers:
- Respect & positive behaviour — treating all swimmers, families, coaches and volunteers with fairness, kindness and good sportsmanship.
- Safe interactions & professional boundaries — child‑appropriate communication, appropriate physical contact, and safe supervision at all times.
- Accountability & reporting — making fair decisions, preventing bullying or discrimination, and reporting concerns promptly.
New Member Forms
All new families must read and sign the following before their first session:
- Diving & Pool Depth Acknowledgement
- Behaviour Expectations
- Code of Conduct Acknowledgement
- Media Consent Form
Please return signed forms to our Child Safety Officers before your child’s first session.
Reporting a concern
If you have a concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing at RSC:

All reports are taken seriously, handled confidentially, and acted on promptly.
National frameworks
RSC operates within Swimming Australia’s National Integrity Framework and supports the work of Sport Integrity Australia. We encourage all coaches, volunteers, parents and swimmers to familiarise themselves with these frameworks.
