Small contributions. Big impact. A stronger club for all our kids.
Most parents who volunteer didn’t plan to. Instead, they simply wanted to understand their child’s sport better, meet other families, or help things run smoothly on race days. As a result, what starts small often becomes a rewarding way to feel connected to the club and your child’s swimming journey.
However, volunteering at Redlands Swim Club isn’t about big commitments or giving up all your free time. Rather, it’s practical, flexible help that fits around work, family, and everything else life involves.
🕒What Volunteering Looks Like at Redlands Swim Club
- An hour or two a month
- Flexible tasks you can do around family life
- Clear roles with support
- No special skills needed
- Start small, and then grow only if you want to
In short, this is everyday, achievable help — not a second job. In fact, volunteers are the backbone of Australian community sport, and clubs like ours simply couldn’t run without them.
🤝A team-based approach
We work as a team, share tasks, and support each other. Because of this, you’ll never be left carrying a role by yourself, and there’s always someone to ask for help.
Many parents begin by simply backing up an existing role — answering a few emails, helping with nominations, timekeeping, or lending a hand at meets. Either way, every bit of help makes a difference.
⭐ Why Parents Love Volunteering at RSC
Most volunteers say the same thing: “I didn’t realise how much I’d enjoy being part of it.”
Specifically, volunteering gives you:
- a closer connection to the club
- a better understanding of how meets and squads work
- a sense of belonging with other families
- and ultimately, a chance to be part of the environment your child is growing up in
While it may feel a little overwhelming at first, caring about the kids and the community makes it easier than you’d expect. What’s more, you’d be joining a genuinely big movement too — 9.5 million Australians, or 42.8% of people over 15, volunteer in some form.
