Swimming Brisbane determines which Preparation Meets other clubs invite Redlands to. You can view Swimming Brisbane’s meet allocations — use the Find function to check which meets include Redlands.

📝 How to Nominate for Upcoming Meets

We’ll let you know in advance which meets are coming up and the due dates for entering your swimmer into their races (“nominations”).

You always nominate through Swim Central:

  • Log in
  • Find the event
  • Select your swimmer’s races
  • Pay the per‑race fee to confirm the entry (please see our Race Entry Fees for cost examples)

Coaches will email guidance on which races to nominate your swimmer for — please look out for those messages.

🎽 How Meets Work

Before Arrival: After you nominate your swimmer in a meet, please volunteer for at least one timekeeping session (usually 45 minutes). This is part of our club’s commitment when invited to a meet. Because it’s such an important job, we’ll email you and post the sign-up link on Facebook a few days beforehand.

It is a very simple job that requires zero prior experience. Basically, you get the best view of the race, you count the laps, and when the swimmer touches the wall, you click the stopwatch. Simple!

Arrival Time: Arrive at least one hour before your swimmer’s first race, since warm‑up is essential.

During: When you arrive, look for RSC swimmers and sit with the group. This builds community, helps swimmers stay organised, and also ensures your child is supported if you’re timekeeping.

Self marshaling: Swimmers must self‑marshal, so listen for marshalling announcements (usually 1–2 events before your child’s race). And to help your swimmer stay on track, write on their arm:

Event Number — Heat Number — Lane Number
