Swimming is an essential part of life in Queensland, but we know that club fees and squad registrations can add up. To help ease the squeeze on family budgets, our club is proud to be an approved activity provider for the Queensland Government’s Play On! Sports Vouchers program.
If you are unfamiliar with the program, this quick guide covers everything you need to know.
Key points for parents
What it is: A voucher worth up to $200 per eligible child.
Who can use it: Children aged 5–17 years (one voucher per child per financial year).
What it covers: You can apply the voucher directly toward your child’s annual Redlands Swim Club membership.
When does it run: The program runs in two rounds each year (summer and winter sports). Your child will be granted a voucher in only one of these rounds.
How to use it: Apply online through the Queensland Government website. Once approved, provide your voucher details in your shopping basket on Swim Central when purchasing annual RSC membership.
Step-by-Step: How to Claim Your $200 Discount
Getting your discount is a seamless online process, but it requires a little bit of timing. Follow these three steps to ensure your voucher is applied correctly:
1. Check Round Dates and Apply Online
First, the government allocates round-by-round, and they can run out quickly. Head to the official Queensland Government Play On! Application Page to check if the current round is open. If it is, log into your account (or create one) to complete the quick eligibility assessment and submit your application.
2. Grab Your Voucher Details
Once the government approves your voucher, you will receive a unique voucher code. Log into your online portal, download the PDF voucher, and copy down the exact voucher number. Keep this handy before you start our club registration process.
3. Redeem Directly in Swim Central
To renew or purchase your annual club membership, go to Swim Central.
- Add the membership product to your shopping basket, then proceed to Checkout
- Then, look for the “Voucher” input field within your payment basket interface.
- Input your unique Play On! voucher code.
- Verify that Swim Central has deducted the $200 discount from your total balance before entering your card details to pay any remaining gap.
Important Reminders for Families
- Apply Before You Pay: You can’t apply vouchers retrospectively. The government system cannot process refunds if you pay your full Swim Central fees upfront and try to present the voucher later.
- Expiration Dates: Every voucher comes with a strict expiry date. Ensure you redeem yours in Swim Central before that date lapses, as the government does not reissue or renew an expired voucher.
