Members of RSC: Welcome
Welcome to a new season at Redlands Swim Club, we’re so glad to have your family with us. This is your hub for everything you’ll need through the year as a proud RSC member.
Your first steps as a new member
Welcome to Redlands Swim Club — here’s everything you need to get started. This guide walks you through your first steps, what happens next, and how to stay organised for the season ahead.
📋 Onboarding checklist
- First, confirm squad allocation with Cleveland Aquatic Centre
- After your first session, add training times to your calendar
- Next, purchase uniform essentials (your first RSC swim cap is complimentary). See uniform expectations
- Then, join our Facebook group
- Also, add club email info@redlandsswimming.com.au to contacts (so nothing goes to Junk)
- Remember, keep memberships current through Swim Central (they expire 30 June every year)
- When it’s time, nominate for your first meet through Swim Central: we will give advance notice of upcoming meets, or you can refer to them in the Swimming Brisbane Club Meet Allocations document
- And finally, please arrive at training at least 5 minutes early to ensure a strict start time.
🔄 What Happens Next: Communications & Meets
Once your swimmer settles into their squad, you’ll start receiving meet information, season updates, and any important notices via email and Facebook. In addition to updates, we use these channels for last-minute changes, such as weather cancellations. Therefore, it’s important to keep an eye on both and check in regularly.
As the season progresses, you’ll nominate for meets through Swim Central. Meanwhile, you can support your swimmer at club events, and stay connected with coaches and committee updates.
💳 Fees
Memberships must remain current throughout the season in order to train and compete. In addition, you pay race entry fees per meet through Swim Central. For a full breakdown of all fees, please see our Fees Overview page.
🥽What to bring to training?
- Swimwear (not boardshorts/leisurewear)
- Goggles — a spare pair in the bag is never a bad idea
- A drink bottle
- A towel
- RSC Swim Cap (all new members receive one complimentary cap)
Your coach will let you know if your child’s squad needs any equipment beyond this — common extras include fins, a kickboard, a pull buoy, a snorkel. No need to buy any of this before your first session.
